"Surf's Up!"
SOLD 6 1/2" x 10 1/2" oil on panel
On my beach dog walk Wednesday, I caught this guy watching the surf and/or other surfers.
I really enjoyed painting this one today, it was faster than some and I like the looseness. I actually started it with a black background.

Here is a 'postcard painting' from my morning dog walk today. I ventured to the beach on a gorgeous spring day because my brother thought the station would make a nice PAD...

"Raising the Bridge" and A Large Landscape
SOLD 4 3/4" x 10" oil on panel
Yesterday, while my car was at the car wash I walked Talley to the Ortega drawbridge park. It made me think it would be interesting to paint the drawbridge. (Talley ended up getting a 'wash' too after chasing two geese into the river.)(I posted this Wednesday night but for some reason the email subscription service didn't send out the email. Didn't want this one to go unseen so I reposted it)
This is the large oil landscape I just finished today. Whew! It is titled "The Pass at Santa Fe Lakes" and is 29" x 48" and already has an interested buyer! For some reason I went very detailed with this painting, note the two bass boats in the middle. I signed it after I took the photo of it. I am going to have this scanned to become a giclee print and it will be available on canvas or paper in smaller sizes than the original. Enjoy!

"Sausalito Florist"
SOLD 6 1/4" x 8 3/4" oil on panel
Yesterday's PAD with the grass and red flowers made me think of a florist shop I saw in Sausalito years ago. I decided to "revisit" painting it in a quicker, looser way than when I painted it much larger a long time ago.

"Golden in the Field"
SOLD
6" x 8" oil on panel
I did not have alot of time to decide what to paint or time to actually paint this afternoon so painting my dog, Talley, is always an easy decision! In this scene she is in a field near my mom's lake home.

"Bearded Iris" and Some Fun News
SOLD 6" x 8" oil on panel
This iris is from a trip to the mountains of North Carolina. I really like irises especially the bearded variety.
This large original watercolor on paper, "Tulips, New York Botanical Gardens" was picked up by art handlers from New York to be crated in Miami and shipped or flown to Panama to be on display in a public room of the Ambassador's Residence in Panama. The new ambassador, Barbara Stephenson is from North Florida and as part of the State Department's Art in Embassies Program she gets to select a loan exhibition of American Art for her residence. Evidently she saw my work on my website and really liked this watercolor! Once it is on display I plan on requesting a photo of it in it's Panama home during it's two year stay. Pretty cool!

The day before Valentine's Day I went to an upscale local florist and they generously allowed me to take reference pictures of all of the beautiful flowers. Here's a painting of one of them.

I am participating in a show for the Women's Center of Jacksonville in the lobby of the Bank of America building during March. I received second place and recouped the money spent making the red oak display easels! Walk through the lobby if you find yourself in downtown Jax.
I am so proud of the easels my friend, Joe and I made, here is another photo just of them!
This is my dad coming out in me: making something to last rather than renting or buying cheap.
I considered participating in the Downtown Art Walk tonight but it was just too cold!! Ryan with Gallery Framery on Hendricks Avenue made two new sample frames for me, showing the option of having linen mounted on board behind the painting. (He offers 15% off to anyone bringing one of my paintings in to frame.) The outside dimension of the horizontal frame is 13" x 18", the outside dimension of the square frame is 16" x 16". Stand up and walk around your computer when looking at these and that will be my online Art Walk! I hope these photos motivate you to find a space/home for one of these PADs!

"A Walk in the Park"
SOLD
I was secretly wishing we would get some of that snow blasting the east, having never painted snow. Boone Park would look awesome blanketed with snow, maybe one day ...next winter.
